The combination of dwindling fossil fuel supplies, global climate change, energy security concerns and a rapidly-increasing global demand for energy will foster an increasing reliance on clean renewable energy generation sources. Over 90 percent of the renewable energies used for electricity generation are weather-driven; in other words, they are completely dependent on the weather/climate system for their fuel. So while these sources of renewable energy have the capability to liberate us from our dependence on fossil fuels, they introduce another complicating dependency: the weather. This dependency affects all aspects of weather-driven renewable energy projects: from proper placement to ongoing operation and integration.

Understanding and predicting the weather and climate and its impacts on renewable energy generation is the core of what 3TIER does.

Simply put, 3TIER is a renewable energy forecasting and assessment company that uses its knowledge about weather, climate and their impacts on wind,
hydro and solar energy to help its clients make better decisions about
their renewable energy investments. It uses sophisticated computer
modeling systems, in-house expertise and reliable delivery mechanisms
to forecast both the short-term intermittency and the long-term
availability of renewable energy as well as provide project-scale,
scientifically based assessment and forecast products and services to
its clients. Founded in 1999 and incorporated in 2001, 3TIER is a
