3TIER Releases First Seamless Solar Map of Western Hemisphere
3TIER, one of the world's largest independent providers of assessment
and forecasting of renewable energy, has released the first seamless
solar irradiance map of the Western Hemisphere - the latest milestone
in our REmapping the World initiative.Similar to 3TIER's high-resolution wind maps, a clickable solar map is available online for free through the FirstLook Prospecting™ tool. This map allows policy-makers, developers and financiers to quickly identify potential sites and begin assessing their renewable energy potential.
To produce this map, 3TIER developed a dataset that is approximately three times the resolution of existing solar datasets for the United States. The dataset also details solar resource variability over an 11 year time series, which is available for any location in a FullView Site Analysis Report.
